I have been publicly sharing my weirdly specific playlists as an excuse to share new artists with new listeners! Taste Destroyer focuses on uplifting trans/gnc and POC alternative music artists who are pushing boundaries with their message and music.
In 2021, I had a life altering brain injury. While recovering, I taught myself music marketing because I realized that I could use my hotel pricing strategy systems and skills to help music artists. Audience development has been the focus of my work since I noticed that it was the same process I used to create the most effective pricing strategies for my hotel clients. The more information a hotel could provide me about their guests, the faster I was able to make them the #1 performer in their competitive set. Similarly in music, when an artist listens to and learns about their fans, they are able to nurture the connection necessary to keep an engaged fanbase for years and years.
In 2022, I launched my podcast "The Shape of Audience Development to Come," about audience development to serve as a portfolio to show how my skills translate to content strategy and marketing. for artists as a way to create job security for their artist project. The launch led to inquiries from artists asking me to provide branding and content strategy audits like the process I went through in my podcast.
